Consultation – finding out about you

First, we meet and find out what your business is all about, what you would like your website to do and who your website is aimed at. That last one is really important to nail down before we start, you need to know who your website is for so we can hone in on what it needs to look like and how it should work.

Design and build

With our professional website package, we design and build your website in a private secure area, away from prying eyes and Google. You really don’t want Google to be listing an unfinished website!

When it’s ready, we send you a link. You’ll no doubt want to make some changes and this is the time to do that. We allow as many changes as you need at this stage, to ensure the finished product shows off your organisation in the best possible way, allows website visitors to access the information they need and looks appealing enough for people to want to spend time on your website.

Tweaking stage

We make any changes you’d like, as mentioned above, they might be colours, images or even some structural changes. If there are any features that need testing, that happens at this stage. When everything is tickety-boo we go live.

Going live

From 25 years of experience, we’ve come to realise telling everyone a website is live as soon as it is, is a mistake, why? Well, in some situations, when a website goes live, not everyone will see the finished website. It can take time for DNS servers to propagate and people’s browsers can cache (See What is caching and why is it useful?) old versions of pages. Also, have you ever sent an email then noticed spelling mistakes in your sent items or further down when they reply? Yeah, that happens on websites too. It’s horrid if you put a link out on social media about a new website, only to get a nasty comment about something being wrong with it. So we do a ‘Soft launch’ which is where we make a website live, but only tell a few trusted people. That way we iron out any issues before telling the world, usually about a week later.

Aftercare

Once your website is live, we don’t abandon you, or let you sail off into the distance, alone. With our eco-friendly Managed Hosting we look after all the technical aspects of your website and provide an hour’s one-to-one support each month, so if you get stuck or want to discuss something, you know you can email or call us and we’ll help.

A website is never finished, like a garden, it needs tending

You’ll need to keep your website up-to-date, adding new content and making sure all the information is still current. New technologies come out and anything integrated with your website will need updating and support if there are changes.

We are here for you and your website, so you can get on enjoying running your business.
